Trail running like any mountain activity generates an impact. At the same time we are aware and it is our concern that an event of this magnitude would increase the flow of runners through the mountain and in turn generate a greater impact. That is why we are committed to reducing the damage that we can cause to the environment, using only existing trails for the routes, being very rigorous when signaling them to avoid participants off the trail.
Since the first edition, Bariloche100 collaborated financially with environmental protection organizations, donating approximately the equivalent of 2,000 trees for the reforestation of damaged forests. We also carry out maintenance and repair tasks on trails so that new ones are not generated and thus reduce the impact.
There will not be any new trail created for the race, and we are working to rebuild trails in poor condition, so that they do not continue to deteriorate and can firmly support the passage of runners. We are also working with a team of volunteers to leave various areas of the route marked, and prevent new paths from being generated due to loss.
There will be a team in charge of cleaning up any debris that may fall by accident.
We will not use cups in the hydration stations and each participant will serve the drink in their own container (softflask, silicone cup, etc.)
The hydration stations will have two marked baskets. One for wet waste and one for dry waste.
We invite you to be part of this commitment with the following customs:
